155 specialist doctors to join duties at 100 PHCs in AP Director

Vijayawada, Nov 9 (UNI) As many as 155 specialist doctors will join duties in 100 Primary Health Centres while 227 doctors who completed PG will provide medical services at secondary hospitals.
Secondary Health Director KVN Chakradhar Babu met Health Minister Satya Kumar Yadav here today and discussed the postings of doctors.
Chakradhar Babu told the media that 155 special doctors would join duty in 100 PHC. He said that 60 specialist doctors were already given posting at 33 area hospitals, 10 doctors were posted at 7 district hospitals, two doctors were posted at MCH after conducting counselling.
“To address the shortage of specialist doctors in secondary hospitals, which play a key role in providing government medical services, 227 doctors who have completed their PG degrees will join the service. The Health Department has posted 227 in-service candidates who have completed their PG degrees in 12 subjects in 142 secondary hospitals,” Secondary Health Director KVN Chakradhar Babu explained.
Out of the total 227 doctors, 35 each are gynecologists and general medicine specialists, 30 general surgeons, 26 anesthesiologists, 25 child specialists, 18 orthopedists, 17 radiologists, 15 eye specialists, and 9 ENT specialists would serve in secondary hospitals, he asserted.
Minister Satyakumar Yadav expressed happiness over the postings made to address the shortage of specialists in secondary hospitals. Out of a total of 243 secondary hospitals, 227 specialists have been appointed in 142 hospitals, the Minister noted.
